"The Spatium Vermis (2020)" from KickthePJ's Cosmic Anthology Vol. 1

These are pages 1, 2 and 3 I created back in 2020 for *KickthePJ's Cosmic Anthology Vol. 1.

My initial idea for these pages was to create something akin to the Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual, except with a sci-fi theme. KickthePJ had previously created a "Space Worm" design years prior, as shown on Page 2, so I was inspired to redesign this creature in my own art style. This idea grew and I ended up writing a bunch of Lore for the creature, including what it eats (see Devoured Planet), some History and a made up Religion (See Wall Drawing).

I first sketched out my ideas on paper, then when I had something I liked I moved it into Photoshop and painted it digitally, finally I moved the digital paintings into my page template and added the text.

This was a big collaborative project that started as a little fun idea but ended up taking 2 years to complete. It involved many talented creators and it was made to show off a weird and wonderful collection of art (digital and traditional), photography, writing and poetry, just to name a few.
